Opening Hours & Admission

The Bowes Museum is open daily. Closed only 25 & 26 December & 1 January.

There will be no Silver Swan on display between 23 January and 8 April due to it being one of the star attractions in the Science Museum’s 2017 blockbuster exhibition, Robots.

Please note that the Shop will be closed 27 & 28 March, however access to Café Bowes will be maintained.

Gallery Closures

9 January - 28 February Some paintings in the Picture Galleries will be being cleaned during opening hours
 4 March

The Nineteenth Century Picture Gallery will be closed from 12.30-3.00 for rehearsals for the illustrated concert Music and the Allure of Napoleon. The concert will then commence in the gallery at 3.30.

Gift Aid

The Bowes Museum is a registered charity. Admissions are donation inclusive and can be Gift Aided. For every £1.00 paid the Museum can reclaim 28p. If you are not a UK taxpayer or do not wish to make a charitable donation the admission prices are as follows: Adults £9.25, Concessions £8.50, 6 Month Admission Pass £14.00.
