Lifelong Learning Spaces on the Ground Floor
The Bowes Museum currently has one classroom which is much in demand. It is planned to create a suite of life-long learning spaces on the ground floor in the Museum’s vaults.
The rooms will be fitted with appropriate facilities to improve the quality and number of educational sessions, particularly for under 18s. Both hands-on activities and classroom-based learning will be possible, and supporting educational materials targeted at each user group will be developed further. All work will be carried out in an accessible manner, taking full account of the needs of all types of visitors.
