Park & Gardens
The Bowes Museum is preparing an exciting project to redevelop its 20 acre grounds. Currently in the application phase, the project will aim to improve the walks and trails around the building, add interpretation panels and a much requested natural play area. Access to the Museum will be improved and woodland belts will be reinstated and maintained. Seasonal planting will be increased and an outdoor event programme introduced. Finally, sympathetic lighting will be introduced so that more of the park can be enjoyed for longer periods of the year.
