Dragonesque Brooch

The style of this brooch is known as 'dragonesque' due to its shape. It is made of silver and was found at Binchester Roman Fort, although the style is closer to Celtic designs. This style of brooch was originally made in Northern Britain in the territory of the Brigantes tribe and was probably made between AD 50 and AD 150.
