Polished Stone Axe

Polished stone axe in brown quartzite (or limestone). The faces are rounded and curve outwards, with a symmetrical working edge. There is some wear on the butt, though the working edge is in mint condition. At it's longest point it measures 97mm; it is 52mm wide; 25mm in depth and weighs 200gms. This was donated to the Museum by E. J. W. Hildyard in 1953.
