Seal Box

Seals were used to keep letters and documents secret. The wax seals were kept safe in metal boxes. This Roman seal box is round (approx. 2cm in diameter) and made of bronze. There are two holes in the side for a cord to fit through, and the top is missing. It is part of the original Bowes Collection.
