Quern Stone

Bottom stone of an Anglo-Saxon quern, made from dark grey coloured stone. It measures approximately 37.5cm in diameter and is roughly 12.5cm deep. There is a 5cm wide ridge around the edge of the stone, part of which is missing. From this ridge there is an opening used for removing the ground corn from the quern.
