Tankard with hinged cover

Cylindrical, the hinged cover with upturned scrolling thumb piece. The cover domed and stepped and engraved on the top with two coat of arms surrounded by laurel leaves and berries and various unidentified hallmarks. The sides made up of in-set coins bearing the profile of Albert Marrgrave of Brandenburg and King of Prussia, all these coins dated 1540 and 1541, in between the coins is chased ornament simulating flower heads. Size: Height to top of thumb piece: 26.6 cm.
