Women's Shawl

Shawl, woven silk and wool. Separate sewn on long border, silk fringe, made in either Norwich or Edinburgh. This handsome early shawl with a double border of 'cones' has separate sewn-on borers. It is a example of an expensive shawl, which both Norwich and Edinburgh were producing at that time and it is a fine imitation of an Indian shawl. Size: 129 x 268 cm
