The Birth of Samson for The Story of Samson
Possibly designed by Michael Coxie, in the style of Barnard Van Orley. Borders missing, no marks. The scene shows an open hall with rolling landscape to the right. The large room, with marbled panelling and tiled floors, shows the mother resting in a draped bed, with two attendants standing by. In the foreground more attendants, including one airing the babies clothes and another folding clothes into a basket. On the right a nurse holds up the newly born baby to a man, presumably Manoah, the father. Size: 402.5 x 292.5 cm
