Woman's Day Dress
Wool and cotton long sleeved dress in red, cream and black check. It is trimmed with black velvet ribbon and buttons. The wide 'V' shape design of the bodice of this dress was popular in the 1840s and 50s. The dress has four pleats which emphasize this shape. The sleeves accentuate the drooping shoulder line. The matching black velvet covered buttons, increasing in size, continue from the bodice to the bottom of the skirt.
