Three Graces

Part of a larger tapestry, showing open landscape, with parts of flowering trees on either side and flowers in foreground. In the centre three girls, the Three Graces, with crowns of flowers, and wearing blue, red and rose dresses and draperies. The border is patched together from parts of two different types, both imitating carved and gilded picture frames. Wool warp, with silk and wool weft. About 8 warps to the inch (2.5 cm). Size: 272.5 x 133.7 cm.
