Day Dress
Dress of white muslin, printed with a flower and branch design, in shades of pink, 1864-74. This is a simple summer dress, elaborated only by piped seams, a frill on the bodice and cuffs and a deep frill at the hem. Although the skirt is full and tightly gathered at the waist, the front panel is set without gathers, so that the fullness is thrown back in a slight train, which would have been supported by a half-crinoline.
