Ceremonial Baton

Ceremonial baton of boxwood, made in several sections, fitted together with dowels. The openwork section is composed of several thin ribs, sprung into place with woven thread top and bottom, and held out at the centre by a notched disc. Carved and turned. Near the top is a group of three figures, above this group an openwork chamber surmounted by the figure of Charity.
