Panel: Trophy of Musical Instruments

This marquetry panel is badly damaged, but it is a valuable means of illustrating marquetry techniques. Each piece of the composition has been individually cut out and glued to the pine carcase. This can be clearly seen around the missing sections. Signs of an old lock and hinges suggest this was once a door.
The central design is of a trophy of musical instruments, a symbol of love.
