Vase

Vase, painted with the figures of Mercury and Hebe. It is made of pear shape form, the narrow neck with rim, and conical foot. The whole is raised on an octagonal foot. On either side of the vase has scrolling loop handle in the form of a phoenix. The vase is decorated with a scene which depicts Mercury leading Hebe to heaven, both wearing garments against a dark blue ground and mountainous landscape. Exhibition at the London International Exhibition 1871.
