Shaped bowl and narrowing slightly towards the rim with project handles which are painted gold. The whole of the surface is painted to imitate marble and below the rim is a meander of ivy leaves in gold and on one side a laurel spray and on the other a spray of oak leaves the two branches tied in the centre with ribbon with the cipher of King Louis Philippe surmounted by a crown, all in gold.
