Vase
Part of a pair of vases, each of pear shape form with cylindrical necks flaring towards the wavy rim. Decorated around the centre, on both sides, depict a Japanese lady seated beneath a prunus tree whose branches, foliage and flowers curl down over her head, and again at the neck, depicting an obese Japanese man. The other panels are decorated with cockerels, chrysanthemum heads and other flowers and foliage. The inside rim of each vase is similarly decorated.
