The compartment is of bucket shaped form, of rectangular section, the sides flaring outwards, the front being flat with a gilt bronze border, enclosing a panel of mother of pearl. The centre with a cast and applied gilt bronze figure of a woman in classical attire, and holding in her left hand, a bunch of grapes and foliage. The rim of the compartment is scalloped into two sections. Above the compartment, at the back, rises a bell shaped section, similarly edged with gilt bronze which encloses mother of pearl decorated with flowers and foliage, and engraved with words 'petit courrier'. This surmounted above by two cherubs who support a wreath of flowers and foliage in gilt bronze and below by swag drapery. Size: Length: 16 cm.
