Sweetmeat Bowls
Four detachable sweetmeat bowls on a circular stand with the centre of the stand rises a gilt bronze column, The circular bowls are of polished granite and are fitted around the rims with pierced galleries of gilt bronze, which consists of acanthus leaves set in a formal arrangement of half circles, and each is raised on a high gilt bronze foot decorated with pierced ornament and decorated with fruiting vine. The tray is arranged into quarters by a similar ornamental gallery running crossways and of polished granite to match the bowls. The whole is raised on four lions paw gilt bronze feet. Made for the Chateau of Malmaison. Size: Width of bowls: 9.6 cm: Width of stand: 27.5 cm.
