Gold pair-cased watch, the white dial with black Roman hour numerals, painted in the centre with Wellington and troops, and inscribed WATERLOO. The plain cases are hallmarked with the London date-letter for 1815-16, and the maker's marked I.W. (not identified). The hands, with spade ends, are delicately pierced. The engraved back-plate, under a dust cover, is inscribed "John Langlands/NEWCASTLE 8408". The large balance cock is pierced and engraved with a design including flags and a dear pierced by two arrows. Bevelled glass.
