Pocket Watch
Gold-cased gentleman's pocket watch marked with the assay letters for Chester, 1855-6. The dial has an engine-turned chapter-ring, with raised Roman numerals for the hours, small raised dots outside for the minutes, the centre chased with a wreath of scrolls and flowers. A seconds dial, with engine-turned centre, is set low. The hands are of blue steel, the hour-hand with a pierced lozenge decoration, the minute hand with a fleur-de-lys.
