This silver pair-cased watch is marked with the hallmarks for London, 1813-14 and the maker's mark I.G., who is presently unidentified. The engraved backplate is inscribed 'B. Smart 9491. London'. A Benjamin Smart is recorded at 35 Frith Street between 1800 and 1818.
