Part of a pair of beechwood armchairs painted white and upholstered in Aubusson tapestry illustrating Aesop's fables. In the 17th and 18th centuries, illustrations if Aesop's fables were immensely popular across Europe. They were frequently applied to the decorative arts and were particularly popular in the 1750s and 1760s and again with the Rococo Revival of the 1840s. Size: Height: 88 cm. Width: 57 cm. Depth: 49 cm.
