Table Cabinet

This table cabinet is veneered in ebony with inlay of ebony, bone, red turtleshell and mother of pearl. Inside are six drawers flanking an inner door, which opens to reveal a further set of drawers. Compare this piece with the mid 19th century cabinets in stands by Monbro, particularly the inner doors flanked by pillars. Monbro drew on early Italian cabinets for inspiration for these pieces.
