Pair of Chairs
This pair is part of a set of eighteen dining-room chairs with oak frames and with the original moquette upholstered seats and back panels, with a design of roses against a green and grey background. The chairs have sabre back legs and shallow cabriole front legs, and the backs are cartouche shaped, the oak frames moulded with a small central scrolling above a pierced hand-hold.
The set was supplied by Monbro fils aine in 1858 for John and Josephine Bowes dining room at Louveciennes.
