Columns

Pair of columns with fluted shafts and Corinthian capitals carved in high relief. Originally part of Sir Christopher Wren's scheme for the organ screen in the Temple Church, London 1682. Removed, 1840, for 'Gothic' renovation. The columns have been provided with an entablature and broken segmented pediment in imitation of the original design.
