Commode
The front surface of this two-drawer commode is treated as a single panel. The veneer is applied on the diagonal in sections of contrasting coloured woods. The floral marquetry designs are framed in cartouches.
The commode is stamped with the maker's mark MM, which has not yet been identified it is also stamped JME, the stamp of the 'jurande de menuisiers-ébénistes', or guild warders, who only stamped pieces they approved.
