Trinket Box
Trinket box veneered in rootwood with a painted panel on lid. The box has rounded corners and all sides are veneered in rootwood with a lozenge-shaped keyhole escutcheon of satinwood. The top is framed with rootwood and painted with a rural scene with two sheep in the foreground, signed: G. HENRARD inv. The box is padded and lined with deep pink satin. Retains original key. Paper label on bottom reads "Fabrique d'ouvrage de Spa / HENRARD-CAJOT à Spa / Leçons de Dessin et de Peinture / Fleurs, Paysages, Animaux". Also price label, 50 francs.
