Furniture Mount

Companion figure to X.5005.1, representing a standing female figure in loosely flowing classical robe caught up at the waist with a belt upon which are the astrological symbols of Aries, Taurus and Gemini. In her left hand she carries the wand of Mercury and in her right hand, which is held upwards above her shoulder, a flaming bowl. Upon her head is perched a six pointed star. This furniture mount was recovered from the ruins of the Tuileries after it was burnt by the Communards in 1871. Size: Length: 13.5 cm
