Door Fitting

Ormolu door-fitting with sliding latch at its centre, as the backing of rectangular shape, surmounted by plumes radiating from semicircles decorated with scrolling foliage. The back is decorated with wings and scrolls. The latch, with a moulded, round ridged handle, slides through a rectangular eye with a crown and garter in relief upon it. Apparently looted from the Tuileries in 1871. Size: Height: 22 cm. Width: 12 cm.
