Stroh Violin
Stroh violin or patent violin with aluminium horn in place of sound box marked "STROVIOL". Gilt transfer on main cylinder shows a decorative cartouche including a lyre and the words "STROVOIL/TRADE MARK/REGISTERED". The aluminium shoulder rest is stamped: "MADE/IN/ENGLAND". The case carries a paper-shipping label "S.A.S. en H/TO-NA/TABLE BAY DOCKS/TAFELBAAI DOKKE/For Shipment - Vir Verskeping" and a small label with a date stamp for October 1934.
