Christ as the Man of Sorrows
This painting is showing the Passion and the Death of Christ. In the centre Christ is standing in the tomb; his blood, flows into a chalice for the salvation of Mankind. Behind him are various symbolic items, the ewer and basin of Pilate, the thirty pieces of silver of Judas, figures including Pilate and Herod and the jars of ointment for the woman to attend the body.
