The painting is from a position looking across the Grand Canal to the Doges Palace in the centre. Amongst the large number of boats are two large state ships on the right of the picture. Crowds of people are seen all along the quay and in the foreground a group of noblemen and ladies. Two of the ladies are shielded from the sun by parasols held by young pages. To their left of them a little boy in white stands all alone. Size: 75 x 54 cm
