Architectural Capriccio

Ruined amphitheatre dominates the composition and stands at the foot of a hill on which there are other ruined buildings. To the right are an obelisk and ruined bridge. The foreground is mainly taken up with an ornamental enclosure from which steps lead down to water. The composition is peopled with several figures. Ink black with a grey wash. Size: 38.5 x 54.5 cm
