To the right, the State Barge is returning to the quayside in front of the Doge's Palace, surrounded by various gondolas. The gondola in the foreground carries the French Royal arms. In the background Campanile of St. Mark to the left, and in centre, St. Mark's Column. Purchased of the assistance of the MLA/V&A Purchase Grant Fund, the National Art Collections Fund and the National Heritage Memorial Fund. Size: 237.5 x 156.3 cm.
