The Bowes Museum

The Bowes Museum offers an ongoing programme of exhibitions to complement the display of its permanent collections. These range from major blockbusters often curated by staff, here at the Museum, to touring exhibitions and works on loan from other institutions.

A British Museum Spotlight Tour: Celebrating Ganesha

This vibrant, colourful exhibition is coming to The Bowes Museum from the British Museum. The exhibition centres on a large stone sculpture of the elephant-headed god Ganesha, depicted standing on a lotus petal. English Rose – Feminine Beauty from Van Dyck to Sargent
