The Stone Festival

Fri 19 Oct 12

Raise your mallets for the inaugural Stone Festival in Barnard Castle between the 19th and 31st October 2012.
Stone is in Teesdale’s cultural DNA, from its generations of miner-farmers to present day quarry workers, stonecutters, masons,
sculptors and wallers. Its geological wealth and its local skillsbase make the district a national hotspot for the UK stone industry.
Come along and get involved with the New Stone Age.
A full programme of events makes up the Stone Festival, some of which take place in the grounds of The Bowes Museum.
