Build a Business at The Bowes Museum
Thu 07 Nov 13
The Bowes Museum has one of the most significant European textile collections in Britain, and from 21st September will host two fantastic fashion exhibitions featuring Savile Row tailors Henry Poole and iconic designer Laura Ashley.
Using the Museum’s collections as a source of inspiration, Durham Creatives will take you through the essentials of starting a business in this vibrant and valuable sector, help you generate and shape new ideas and explore their commercial potential.
During the first session you will have the opportunity to meet Joanna Hashagen, Keeper of Fashion & Textiles at The Bowes Museum, and throughout the course you will have the opportunity to speak to different members of The Bowes Museum’s staff about your ideas.
The workshops will run over 7 Thursdays. The first session will be a full day which will begin with the exploration of the collections (10am – 4pm) followed by half day sessions for the remainder of the programme (10am – 1pm).
