Families
The young and the young-at-heart can explore The Bowes Museum through the provision of fun and educational games and activities which include toddler and family trails, family back-packs, dressing up areas, quizzes and worksheets, and interactive devices.
Family events take place throughout the year in the school holidays and include our ever-popular family fun days, storytelling sessions and art workshops. Please check the 'Whats's On' section of the website for forthcoming events.
The beautiful park and gardens are an endless source of pleasure, providing the ideal environment for a relaxed picnic. The recent addition of an orienteering trail complements our ‘Bag of Fun’ containing games and activities to do in the grounds. Both are available from the Museum’s reception desk in the Entrance Hall.
The Museum has an 'After Schools Club' every Wednesday. For more information please call 01833 690606.
Café Bowes offers a children's menu, with special dishes and portion sizes to suit all ages and appetites. Dietary needs can be catered for and high chairs are available.
