Public Transport
The Bowes Museum is 17 miles from Darlington rail station which is on the East coast main line. This is regularly served by high speed trains from London (2 hrs 30 mins), York (30 mins), Newcastle (30 mins) and Edinburgh (2 hrs).
Bus services run regularly to Barnard Castle from Darlington (Arriva 75 & 76 and 70), Bishop Auckland (Arriva 80 and Richmond (Arriva 79). To find out more about public transport call 0871 200 22 33. Visitors to The Bowes Museum who travel by public transport receive £1 off admission price on production of a valid transport ticket.
