Wedding Open Day

Wedding Open Day

3 March 2019 11am – 2pm

If you’re looking for a breath taking and inspiring venue to get married at then The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is the place to be this weekend.

With beautiful rooms, elegant grounds and a World-class collection of art all around you, The Bowes Museum is a truly unique setting for your big day.

John and Joséphine Bowes built the Museum to share their love of fine and decorative arts with the people of the area they loved, Barnard Castle and Teesdale.

Now the French château-style building holds around a dozen weddings a year and is throwing open its doors on Sunday 3 March from 11am – 2pm for a Wedding Open Day.

Prospective brides and grooms can visit our stunning wedding suite and meet our dedicated team.  They can also talk to local suppliers specialising in cakes, photography, flowers, bespoke stationery, transportation, catering and bridal wear.

The Museum is fully licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 200 people and can cater a wedding breakfast or evening reception for up to 100.

We can offer all or just one part of the wedding package, from the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening reception.  You can also hire the grounds for a marquee.

Lisa Hall, The Bowes Museum Wedding Coordinator, said: “It’s an honour and pleasure for us to host someone’s wedding at our magnificent venue and we understand that every wedding is unique.

“We have held all sorts of weddings from traditional to quirky, formal and informal in all Seasons, nothing is too much trouble and we’ll do our best to accommodate any type of wedding.

“We look after the family from the very first enquiry, right through to waving them off at the end of the night.”
