Frances Priest: Influences of the East

The Bowes Museum is thrilled to be showcasing the most recent work by the Edinburgh based ceramicist, Frances Priest.

The artist potter is inspired by different cultures, places and periods in history and she creates intricate and colourful objects that celebrate her fascination for ornament and pattern.

Her work will be interspersed around the Museum's collection, complementing and contrasting with items chosen by our curator of ceramics, Howard Coutts.

Frances Priest: Influences of the East will be open from 22 June until 15 September.

Could you become a guiding light at The Bowes Museum?

More volunteer guides are needed as the number of tours is expected to increase.

Volunteer guides take more than 4,000 people on guided tours around the Museum collections each year and this year the number of tours is expected to increase.

So now, a call's going out asking for more people to volunteer to become a guide.

If you're outgoing, friendly and enjoy telling a story then it could be just the thing for you!
