Conjure up some seasonal magic with Santa at The Bowes Museum

Kickstart the festive season with a magical family experience when Santa arrives at The Bowes Museum this December.

Firstly, visit his workshop, where his friendly elves will help you make some Christmas crafts, then meet Santa Claus himself in his cosy grotto, where he will complete the magic by handing each eligible child an early Christmas present.

The grotto opens on Saturday 1st December and runs right through until Friday 21st December, with slots available to book online or by phone from 10 September, thereby avoiding disappointment. Santa will be at the Museum from 10.30am-1pm and 2pm-5pm at weekends and from 3.30pm-6pm during weekdays. He will also be on site during the Museum’s annual Christmas Market.

The popular annual Market, which takes place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 14th-16th December, is not to be missed - with a wide range of handpicked stallholders offering delicious locally sourced food and unique crafts, live music and plenty of seasonal entertainment, this is definitely the feel good event of the season.

Admission to Santa’s grotto is £10.00 per child, with no charge for accompanying adults. This includes a gift and admission to the Museum. Children who are booked to see Santa between 14th and 16th December will be admitted free of charge to the Christmas Market, while adults will pay just £5.00, which also includes admission to the Museum.

While visiting the grotto and/or the market, why not browse the shop for sparkling decorations and bespoke gifts, or partake of a warming drink or snack in Café Bowes before exploring the Museum with our fun and family friendly Christmas trail?

The Bowes Museum is open daily from 10am. Details of exhibitions and events can be found on the website at www.thebowesmuseum.org.uk
