Stuart Langley - Artist

Stuart uses art as a tool to change outlooks and offer an escape from the expected. Inspired by fantastical worlds depicted in 1980s fantasy films and the staged realities of theme parks and coastal resorts, he works with light, colour, neon and waste to create moments of the extraordinary, set in the everyday.

Commissioned throughout the UK and abroad, his output centres on sculpture and installations.

Stuart on #Untitled10

Introducing colour and light to both objects contained within the building and to the building itself, Stuart's work at The Bowes Museum aims to alter expectations of how a museum might present itself and its collection. Stuart has created a bank of colour-saturated digital graphics and bespoke pieces of neon, inspired by the Museum's archive, to be used as part of a series of experimental interventions, documented in the #untitled10 exhibition.
