The Bowes Museum takes the health and safety of its staff, visitors and volunteers very seriously. As such we’re keeping certain measures in place to keep everyone safe both inside the Museum and in the surrounding parkland.
Inside the Museum, staff continue to wear face masks and with the new restrictions that started on the 30 November 2021 are asking visitors to do the same. We are maintaining an enhanced cleaning programme, especially at points that are frequently touched. There are hand sanitiser stations around the Museum and grounds, as well as signs reminding people to keep their distance from others. To help maintain that social distancing we’re keeping admission to pre-booked tickets, available online here or by calling 01833 690606.
There is a one-way system in place in the shop and Café Bowes customers are asked to wait to be seated. The Museum is complying with all government guidelines and is supporting the NHS Test and Trace scheme, visitors can opt out of that if they wish. If you have COVID-19, or its symptoms, we ask that you please postpone your visit.
We hope to welcome you soon!
