Opening Hours & Admission


The Bowes Museum is open daily. Closed only 25 & 26 December & 1 January.

Please prebook your tickets in advance. The Silver Swan is currently not perfoming daily at 2.00, when social distancing measures can be better managed the Swan will resume normal working.

On the 22 September the Shop will be closed all day.

Due to floor space one of the Ceramic Galleries will be closed whilst the current government safety guidelines are in place
10 & 11 Sept  The Norman Cornish Exhibition will be open between the hours of 11.00 - 3.00 on these dates
