An Introduction to Traditional Stitched Tapestry Technique

Join #Untitled10 artist Claire A Baker for a friendly and relaxed workshop. Using traditional stitched tapestry techniques (tent stitch) with a contemporary colour palette, you will produce a personal and unique creative embroidery piece. This workshop was inspired by Claire’s recent work with the Chernobyl Babushkas - a small number of women with an average age of 78, who still live inside the exclusion zone. This workshop is suitable for all levels,  and no experience is necessary. All materials are provided, and you’ll be given a ready printed canvas to stitch on.

Claire holds an MFA in Embroidery from Manchester Metropolitan University, and is a lecturer in Textiles at The Northern School of Art.
