Enjoy classic cars in the grounds this Father’s Day with the 48th annual Beamish Reliability Run. A wide range of cars dating from 1956 and earlier will stop off as they make their way through the Durham and Yorkshire Dales on their way to Beamish Museum.
We are pleased to announce a summer concert performed by the fabulous Durham Singers, who regularly perform at Durham Cathedral. This will be their first concert at The Bowes Museum, in the splendid Picture Galleries. The concert will take place in the early evening, with summer nibbles and drinks.
The Durham Singers were founded in the early 1970s in the tradition of other great chamber choirs around the UK. Their core aim is to put on concerts of largely unaccompanied music and to build an enthusiastic audience through imaginative programming and top quality singing. Julian, the Choirmaster, has already researched and developed our music for this evening’s performance and has chosen French and English pieces.
Join celebrated international pianist and conductor Janusz Piotrowicz for an evening of music by Chopin in the glittering setting of The Bowes Museum picture galleries. Concert in aid of The Bowes Museum and The World Trust. In association with Ripon International Festival.
Join artist Linda Birch to learn how to capture the magical lustre of silver. Visit the galleries to sketch and observe silver objects and paintings of silver, then learn practical techniques to help you paint highlights, shadows and reflections. All oil or watercolour painters are welcome. Please bring your painting materials (oils or watercolours) plus a silver or plated item. There will be spare items available to paint from.
