"SOLD - to The Bowes Museum!" Join the Friends of The Bowes Museum and former curator Elizabeth Conran to hear stories behind some of the fantastic purchases for the Museum, followed by a glass of fizz and cake!
An opportunity for a rare, behind the scenes, guided tour of Medieval Raby Castle (built between 1367 and 1390) and visit rooms not usually on view to the public. Following light refreshments in the great hall the tour will take in the state apartments where the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, stayed on his visit to the castle. Afterwards, guests of the tour are free to wander around the castle and visit the gardens and two-hundred-acre deer park.
